Illinois Taxes on Ads, Social Media Meet First Legal Challenges

Illinois’s new taxes on social media and targeted advertising are preempted by federal law and violate the US Constitution, tech industry trade association NetChoice told a state trial court in a pair of complaints filed Friday.
