Former deputy cleared in fatal shooting seeks dismissal of related federal civil rights lawsuit

FAYETTEVILLE -- A federal civil rights lawsuit against a deputy who was acquitted by a jury of wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a motorist following a pursuit should be dismissed, a lawyer for the deputy said in court filings Friday.
