Shannon Martin

Mayor Martin’s tenure in public service began during a pivotal period for both Port St. Lucie and the nation as communities worked to recover from the Great Recession. During that time and in the years since, she has played a central role in guiding the City toward long-term financial stability. Under her leadership, Port St. Lucie has reduced total debt by more than 44 percent and lowered the City’s millage (tax) rate incrementally by nearly 25 percent over the past decade, reinforcing a commitment to responsible budgeting while continuing to meet the essential needs of a growing population. Infrastructure investment has been a hallmark of Mayor Martin’s time in office. From 2021 to 2025, the City completed six major roadway projects, including segments of Port St. Lucie Boulevard South, Floresta Drive Phases 1 and 2, Tradition Parkway, and the Torino Parkway roundabout.
