About
Aftab Karma Singh Pureval (born September 9, 1982) is an American attorney and politician serving as the 70th mayor of Cincinnati since 2022. A a member of the Democratic Party, he was previously the clerk of courts of Hamilton County, Ohio, from 2017 to 2022. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Ohio's 1st congressional district in 2018, losing the election to Republican incumbent Steve Chabot. Pureval was elected mayor in 2021 and was reelected in 2025. He is the first Asian American to be elected as mayor of Cincinnati.
